Monday marked the anniversary of the Oct. 7 attack on Israel and its deadly aftermath. The conflict now threatens to engulf the rest of the Middle East, with a cease-fire remaining out of reach.

Peter Beinart, a professor at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY, has written a book called "Being Jewish After the Destruction of Gaza," set to be released in January, that takes a look at the year of conflict.

Beinart, who is also an editor-at-large of the progressive magazine "Jewish Currents,” joined Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Monday to discuss.
