On his first day of his newly-launched campaign, Brad Lander joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on "Inside City Hall" Tuesday to talk about his run for mayor.
Lander, who is currently serving as city comptroller, will be challenging Mayor Eric Adams in the Democratic Primary in 2025.
He said he was convinced the city needed a change in leadership after talking to New Yorkers. Lander mentioned that ending street homelessness would be a big priority, along with public safety.
Lander also responded to Adams’ reaction to his bid, saying he is proud of endorsing Kamala Harris for president before Adams.
“The complaints that I’m hearing about housing affordability, about safety, about neighborhood quality of life, about child care seats are coming from New Yorkers of every race and every neighborhood across the five boroughs,” he said. “It’s not my critique, it’s New Yorkers’ critique.”
