City budget negotiations are ongoing as the June 30 deadline quickly approaches.

Advocates and councilmembers rallied on Thursday to call on the Adams administration to restore budget cuts to early childhood education programs.

Advocates said for the upcoming school year, more than 2,000 children are still awaiting a 3-K seat. In total, early childhood education programs face about $170 million dollars in cuts under Mayor Eric Adams’ budget proposal.

Rebecca Bailin, the co-founder and executive director of New Yorkers United for Child Care, a nonprofit advocating for universal child care, joined NY1 political reporter Bobby Cuza on “Inside City Hall” Friday to discuss more.
