Karen Dewitt has been a steady presence in Albany and the statehouse for more than three decades, covering multiple governors, budgets, scandals, COVID and more.

As the longtime capitol bureau chief for the New York Public News Network, she has kept New Yorkers informed about the ins and outs of state politics on the airwaves.

She joined the press corps in the 1980s, at a time when there were very few women in the industry. And now, she is set to retire at the end of the week.

Dewitt joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Tuesday to talk about how she rose the ranks and how much things have changed — and stayed the same — in Albany.
