Earlier this week, a hearing focused on proposed legislation that would expand the City Council’s oversight powers over mayoral appointments.

That legislation could go to a vote next Thursday and would then go before the voters as a ballot referendum.

Councilmember Lincoln Restler, the chair of the Committee on Governmental Operations, State and Federal Legislation, joined NY1 political reporter Bobby Cuza on “Inside City Hall” Friday to discuss more.

He represents the neighborhoods of Greenpoint, Williamsburg, DUMBO and Boerum Hill in Brooklyn.
