Gov. Kathy Hochul and state lawmakers have approved a preliminary budget deal.
The $237 billion agreement includes a sweeping housing package, funding to address the migrant crisis and retail theft.
State Senate Deputy Majority Leader Michael Gianaris joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Monday to talk about the budget deal and the negotiations process.
“I think to say a deal is done is a bit premature, but we’re close. I’d say we’re probably about 95% of the way there, and that last 5% is significant, of course,” he said. “So hopefully in the next couple of days, we can wrap up the remainder.”
