The state budget deadline is quickly approaching.
It’s been more than a year since the City University of New York and the union representing its faculty and staff, the Professional Staff Congress, have been tied up in contract negotiations.
The two groups have held a total of 13 bargaining sessions, with the union pushing for changes including higher raises and job security for its members.
James Davis, the president of the union, joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Monday to discuss the ongoing talks about the contract.
Editor’s Note: For the last 12 years, NY1’s Errol Louis has been an adjunct professor at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY and a member of the Professional Staff Congress.
