A new survey released by the Citizens Budget Commission finds that only 30% of city residents rate the quality of life as “excellent” or “good.”

This is down from 50% in 2017 and 2008, which are the only two other years the survey has occurred.

Also, one-third of New Yorkers rate the quality of life as “poor.”

According to the survey, New Yorkers also feel much less safe, with 37% rating public safety in their neighborhood as “excellent” or “good,” a drop from 50% seven years ago.

It all comes as the Adams administration navigates both a growing perception the city is in the throes of a crime wave after several high-profile incidents.

Andrew Rein, the president of the Citizens Budget Commission, joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Tuesday to discuss the results of the survey and more.
