Community members and advocates in Crown Heights are looking for answers on how to reduce gun violence following a string of recent fatal shootings.
The neighborhood has seen four fatal shootings since February 26, with one of the victims being a 13-year-old boy.
Crown Heights currently leads the city as the neighborhood with the most fatal shootings so far this year, with six, according to NYPD data.
Three of those shootings took place in the 77th Precinct, which covers northern Crown Heights and parts of Prospect Heights. The number of murders there this year have already tripled last year's total, less than three months into the new year.
Rev. Taharka Robinson, the founder of the Brooklyn Anti-Violence Coalition, and Brian Saunders, the President of the Community Council at the NYPD's 77th Precinct, joined Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Thursday night to discuss anti-violence efforts in the neighborhood.
