After rejecting maps drawn by the state’s bipartisan Independent Redistricting Commission, state Democrats have drawn their own House lines and could pass them as soon as Thursday.

Districts where changes could prove most consequential include the 16th Congressional District in the Bronx and parts of Westchester, where incumbent Jamaal Bowman is facing a primary challenge from Westchester County Executive George Latimer.

And in New York’s 3rd Congressional District, where Tom Suozzi won his special election earlier this month. The district would now include some of Suffolk County.

Other changes include two districts in the Hudson Valley, but overall, the proposed changes are less dramatic than anticipated.
