On Thursday, Gov. Kathy Hochul spoke in the Bronx about a new initiative to open more school-based mental health clinics across the state.
Hochul doubled down on her pledge to address the mental health crisis just three days after her State of the State address.
She also announced $50 million in funding to help community-based hospitals build more space for in-patient treatment. That money is part of her billion-dollar plan, which also includes opening more psychiatric in-patient beds and improving admission and discharge decisions by hospitals.
The co-executive directors of InUnity Alliance, Amy Dorin and John Coppola, joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Thursday to talk about her plan.
InUnity Alliance is a group that provides mental health and addiction services to many organizations and agencies in New York.
