This week, the city announced migrant families nearing the end of their 60-day limit at a shelter won’t be forced to leave during the holidays.
Those slated to leave right after Christmas have been granted one extra week.
The move comes amid growing pressure from advocates, who have been pushing back against the city’s 60-day limit as temperatures dip with the approach of winter.
Murad Awawdeh, executive director of the New York Immigration Coalition, joined NY1 political reporter Bobby Cuza on "Inside City Hall" Friday to discuss the announcement, and the Adams administration’s handling of the crisis.
Officials detailed that the city has seen more than 150,000 migrant arrivals since spring of last year, including about 67,000 migrants still in the city’s care.
