A study by Harvard University found that voters under the age of 30 made up 21% of the electorate in the 2022 races.

But many, including those in New York, have yet to register to vote.

A new nonpartisan group, Organize New York, is trying to change that.

The group is funding a $9 million initiative to mobilize voters between the ages of 18 to 26, specifically in New York's six battleground districts, which could determine control of the House of Representatives.

Organizers hope to get 90,000 young New York voters—no matter their political affiliation—to register and pledge to vote next year.

Tiffany Mueller, the president of End Citizens United Action Fund, which is backing the effort and former Congressman Max Rose, who serves as a senior adviser to Organize New York, joined political anchor Errol Louis on "Inside City Hall" Thursday night to discuss the program.
