George Santos' expulsion from the House of Representatives Friday was historic. Santos is the first member of Congress to be kicked out without having been convicted of any crimes.
The move sets the stage for a special election in a crucial swing district, which will likely be held in mid- to late February, to fill Santos' seat. The process is expected to receive national attention and funding.
Nassau County Democratic Chairman Jay Jacobs, along with input from Gov. Hochul and Queens Congressman Gregory Meeks, will decide the Democratic nomination for the seat.
Jacobs joined "Inside City Hall" host Errol Louis Friday night to discuss the candidates they have already met with, the competitiveness of the district and the proclivities of Nassau County voters.
"I believe it's going to be a higher turnout election than people are expecting, and I'll telll you one thing—there will not be a voter in Nassau County who's still alive that doesn't know when it's election day," Jacobs said.
