State Sen. Jessica Ramos on Friday said "someone should primary the mayor,” hours after media reports revealed that the FBI had seized Mayor Eric Adams’ electronic devices as part of a federal investigation.

"New Yorkers are owed an honest debate about the administration of the city, in how our taxpayer dollars are being spent or not. In the five rounds of budget cuts that we've seen in only two budget cycles, there's a lot to talk about," Ramos told NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on "Inside City Hall" Friday. "That is why I maintain that someone should primary the mayor, and hopefully we'll see who that will be soon."

This comes as progressive Democrats have said they are looking to potentially take on Adams in a primary in 2025.

Lawmakers and top politicians are in Puerto Rico this week for the annual SOMOS political conference.

Ramos' district includes several neighborhoods in Queens, including Jackson Heights, Corona, East Elmhurst and Astoria.
