Queens Democrat Alan Hevesi passed away Thursday morning at the age of 83.
He represented Forest Hills in the state Assembly for more than 20 years before being elected city comptroller role in 1993.
Hevesi then went on to become state comptroller in 2003, but never actually finished his four-year term.
He resigned in 2006 after a state ethics commission found he violated the law by using state employees to care for his ailing wife.
But worse, legal trouble awaited Hevesi in 2010.
He pleaded guilty to corruption charges and served 20 months in federal prison in connection to a pay-to-play scheme.
Evan Stavisky, a longtime Democratic consultant, joined NY1 political reporter Bobby Cuza on "inside City Hall" Thursday to discuss Hevesi’s legacy.
