Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan lost, for the second time, another vote for speaker of the House Wednesday.
Eyes are now on some New York Republicans, who represent more moderate districts and have refused to back Jordan, such as Reps. Nick LaLota, Anthony D’Esposito and Mike Lawler.
Meanwhile, protesters were on Capitol Hill to call for a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas war.
However, Congress is unable to move forward on any legislation regarding aid for the region, because of a lack of a speaker.
Democrat Rep. Pat Ryan joined NY1 political anchor Bobby Cuza on “Inside City Hall” Wednesday to discuss more.
He represents the state’s 18th District, which includes Orange County and parts of Dutchess and Ulster Counties in the Hudson Valley.
