A dozen New York lawmakers, including four Democrats, have filed a lawsuit attempting to block the use of Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn as emergency housing for 2,000 migrants.

The injunction was filed last week.

Lawmakers argue the shelter will burden surrounding communities. The lawmakers have also accused Mayor Eric Adams and Gov. Kathy Hochul of illegally using federal land.

The agreement over the use of the site comes after months of negotiations with the federal government.

Republican City Councilmember Joann Ariola joined host Errol Louis Tuesday night on "Inside City Hall" to discuss the lawsuit.

Ariola, who represents Dictrict 32 in Queens near Floyd Bennett Field, is one of the lawmakers leading the lawsuit.

She is also the chair of the City Council Committee on Fire and Emergency Management.
