September is Hunger Action Month, a nationwide campaign to raise awareness about hunger in the U.S., and to help bring about change.
Advocates are pushing Congressional lawmakers to take action to help address families who may not be able to put food on the table.
Advocates also want to see what’s known as the “Farm Bill” reauthorized on Capitol Hill, and the Emergency Food Assistance Program strengthened. The federal program helps feed low income Americans at no cost.
