The majority of migrants sent on buses from the southern border have come to the U.S. from Venezuela or other Latin American countries.
But a growing number of migrants have also arrived in the U.S. from countries like Haiti and some African countries.
Their journey can often times even be more difficult as Black migrants face higher rates of deportation, according to studies.
Community organizer Adama Bah joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Thursday to discuss the unique challenges Black migrants face.
She’s the founder of Afrikana, a community center in Harlem, helping connect asylum seekers with vital services.
Bah has also been at the forefront of the crisis at Port Authority welcoming arriving migrants.
