Gov. Kathy Hochul announced Thursday that she formally sent a request to President Joe Biden for federal assistance with the influx of migrants in New York.

Some of her requests include to fast track the process of granting work authorizations to migrants and to grant the city and state access to federal facilities.

The state and city are also debating the future of the right-to-shelter policy in court.

Hochul has said she feels the state does not have the same legal obligation the city does.

Westchester County Executive George Latimer joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Friday to discuss more.
