As New Yorkers wait for the rollout of the city’s congestion pricing plan, advocates are pushing lawmakers to take action.
A new report by the nonprofit street safety group Transportation Alternatives lays out 15 steps lawmakers can take before the plan is fully implemented.
Those recommendations include planning the city’s first bus rapid transit routes using space made available by congestion pricing and building wider protected bike lanes.
The report also recommends streets be made more accessible for people with disabilities, seniors and children by building more raised crosswalks, level bus boarding and curb extensions.
Elizabeth Adams, the deputy executive director for public affairs at Transportation Alternatives, joined NY1 political reporter Bobby Cuza on “Inside City Hall” Friday to discuss more.
