Mayor Eric Adams called on state lawmakers to pass a series of bills aimed at helping the city address its affordable housing crisis.
The legislative session comes to a close next week.
Adams says the Gowanus rezoning plan is in jeopardy unless the expired tax break for developers, known as 421-A, is extended.
A total of 8,500 new apartments are expected to be built, including nearly 3,000 affordable apartments.
But projects that used the tax benefit must be completed by 2026, and the Gowanus development needs more time.
NY1 political anchor Errol Louis was joined by Rachel Fee and Michelle de la Uz on "Inside City Hall" Thursday night to discuss the affordable housing shortage in the city.
