The City Council, with the backing of Mayor Eric Adams, is looking to make outdoor dining permanent, but a coalition of advocates says it has a more neighborhood-friendly approach.

The Coalition United for Equitable Urban Policy, known as CUEUP, released a plan that proposes ending roadside dining, prohibiting heating and air-conditioning outdoors because of its climate impact and limiting the number of cafe licenses.

Stuart Waldman, a member of CUEUP, an alliance of 30 neighborhood and block associations, joined Zack Fink on “Inside City Hall” Friday to discuss the blueprint.
