During Thursday's State of the City address in Queens, Mayor Eric Adams unveiled plans to open a new so-called innovation lab at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, focusing on sustainable biotechnology start-ups and companies.
Adams says the incubator is an effort to use the city's growing life sciences and biotechnology sector to help meet the city's carbon neutrality goals and create more jobs.
The 50,000 square foot site is expected to open in the next few years.
Andrew Kimball, the president and CEO of the New York City Economic Development Corporation — a nonprofit run by political appointees and one of the many partners in the project — joined Errol Louis on "Inside City Hall" Thursday to discuss the role the project will play in the city's growth going forward.
