Joshua Goldfein, a staff attorney at The Legal Aid Society, joined Errol Louis on "Inside City Hall" Tuesday night to discuss if Texas and Florida could face legal ramifications for sending asylum seekers to the city.
"People have definitely been harmed and they may have a right to collect some damages for that," Goldfein said. "Whether that is a claim that New York City could raise itself I think is a harder question."
Goldfein also discussed the city's right-to-shelter law, stressing that all New Yorkers should have a bed to sleep in. Additionally, he questioned the city's idea to shelter asylum seekers on cruise ships, which he thinks could make it difficult for the migrants to go to work or court.
