The daughter of a Bronx bodega owner, Miguelina Camilo now hopes to represent the northwest Bronx in the state Senate. Though she's backed by the influential county party and is scheduled to have a fundraiser with Mayor Eric Adams next week, she faces a challenging path through state Sen. Gustavo Rivera, who has represented parts of the district they're contending for over the last decade.

On "Inside City Hall" with Errol Louis Friday, Camilo argued Rivera isn't the incumbent in the race because the new district differs greatly from the one he represented before the redistricting process.

Camilo also discussed her history with the county party, what she hopes to accomplish in Albany, and her views on bail reform.
