Over the last couple of years, we’ve seen an exponential rise in violence against Asian American New Yorkers. On Wednesday night, a 28-year-old was arrested on hate crime charges in connection to a spree of attacks over the weekend in Manhattan. All the victims were women of Asian descent.
Jo-Ann Yoo, the executive director of the Asian-American Federation, joined Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” to discuss the recent surge in hate crimes, both in New York and across the country. The Asian-American Federation is an alliance of 70 member and partner organizations that represents the collective interests of 1.7 million Asian New Yorkers.
