Mayor Eric Adams testified before state lawmakers, urging them to revisit some of New York's criminal justice laws, including bail reform. But Adams faced push back from some legislators who don't share his approach to public safety.
His calls to make changes to the current bail laws are also being criticized by criminal justice advocates, who said the measures approved by state lawmakers back in 2019 are working as intended.
