NEW YORK — For the first time in its history, there will be a new majority in the City Council: Thirty-one out of 51 members will be women, and most of them first-time elected officials. Plus, it will also be the most racially diverse Council ever.
Adrienne Adams, who represents parts of Queens, is set to be chosen as the Council's first Black speaker in an internal vote at the beginning of January. And she is expected to take on reforms when it comes to the NYPD and public safety.
Former City Council Speaker Christine Quinn joined Bobby Cuza on "Inside City Hall" on Thursday evening to talk about what we can expect from the city’s legislative body in the new year.
