After Wednesday’s devastating storm, Gov. Kathy Hochul and Mayor Bill de Blasio admitted that city and state agencies could have done a better job at preparing.

While officials have called it a one-in-a-500 year event, scientists have been warning that the climate crisis is making storms more intense.

But what should cities be doing to become more resilient?

Shana Udvardy, a climate resilience analyst with the climate and energy program at the Union of Concerned Scientists, joined anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” on Thursday to explain what kind of measures might help cities to become more resilient to climate change.
