NEW YORK — As Haitian Americans in New York remain worried about the future of Haiti following the devastating earthquake, Brooklyn Assemblywoman Rodneyse Bichotte Hermelyn joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” on Friday evening to talk about the situation on the ground. She explained that New Yorkers can help by:

  • Going to their local NYPD precinct to drop off supplies
  • Dropping off items at her office at 1312 Flatbush Avenue, from (9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays
  • Donating at nyc.gov/fund

The official death toll is now over 2,100 and expected to grow as rescue efforts continue.

Bichotte Hermelyn, who has family on the island, urged the Biden administration to raise the refugee cap and not turn any Haitians away.

She also weighed in on whether she’s being considered for lieutenant governor, saying that she’s not ruling it out.
