New York Academy of Medicine president Dr. Ann Kurth talked about how the environment adds to health barriers and inequities in various communities. She also discussed the historic NYAM building and how generations of students have come through it.

Kurth then shared her expertise in epidemiology and said how it relates to the pandemic five years after its start. She also touted the recent NYAM gala that helped raise money for its programming.
