Gov. Kathy Hochul explained how nearly 75% of teachers nationwide complain of students being distracted by cell phones in their classrooms and why it’s imperative to get teens offline and start socializing in person again.

She talked about what would happen in case of an emergency and if a student wasn’t allowed to have their phone.

The governor also discussed further details on what “The Stop Addictive Feeds Exploitation for Kids Act” and “The New York Child Data Protection Act” will do to help protect youths.
