National Puerto Rican Day Parade board member Louis Maldonado said this year's parade is dedicated to the Puerto Rican communities in Hawaii.

Maldonado was born there and likes to emphasize to those that ask that he is not just Hawaiian, but also Puerto Rican.

Maldonado discussed what goes into the parade and what to expect along the route this year.

He also talked about the folk dancing groups, the scholarship award, and this years' parade theme.
