Bronx Councilmember Amanda Farias talked about how the Puerto Rican population in the city is decreasing for the first time, as people are no longer able to age in place.
Farias shared how it felt when Speaker Adams appointed her as the Majority Leader in the City Council, and why Latino representation is so important.
She also discussed how Latino issues are not unique to just their communities, and talked about her own family's experience in the Bronx. Farias also said how she plans to celebrate ahead of this year's National Puerto Rican Day Parade.
