GatewayJFK executive director James Johnson explained how the nonprofit GatewayJFK is helping protect southeast Queens by taking care of the airports' surrounding community issues.

He touted the new groundbreaking project that will add a record number of electric vehicle charging stations around JFK airport to entice more eco-friendly drivers.

Johnson discussed how idling trucks and truck traffic are impacting pollution for residents and presented possible solutions to mitigate them.

He also described how illegal dumping is a major problem and adding more street lights may help stop people from doing it.
