Jennifer Jones Austin, Federation of Protestant Welfare Agencies CEO, joined “In Focus” to bust poverty misconceptions.

She explained how the federal poverty measure was created decades ago and does not fit into today’s standards.

Jones Austin stressed the importance of livable wages and why the push for higher minimum wage is a must.

She also discussed what local officials are doing that will help combat poverty in the city.
