Two of NAN’s new guard join Reverend Al Sharpton to talk about the changing face of activism. Where gathering a crowd used to involve going door to door or word of mouth, now, much of the resistance is run on social media. But that, too, takes people power, and our guests talk about the importance of bringing young people into the fold and helping them to find, not the voices of their elders, but their own voices. They’ll also talk about how knowing the history of NAN, of Reverend Al and of the civil rights movement must inform today’s activists, as they find their own way to get the message out and help to change, not only minds, but policies.
