WASHINGTON -- Thousands of people are still desperately trying to put the pieces back together and recover from a number of recent natural disasters around the world.

In the United States alone, the American Red Cross says they and community partners have helped provide nearly 1 million overnight stays in emergency shelters due to the recent back-to-back hurricanes that rocked the U.S., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

While the Red Cross and other nonprofits are hard at work on the ground providing relief, some question how the money being donated to the non-profit is being used.

Our Caroline Blair sat down with their president & CEO, who answered questions about accusations of misuse of funds, and not only explained how they use donations, but how you can help save lives without spending a dime.
