Downpours Saturday afternoon didn't stop Rockaway residents from attending the city's second-largest St. Patrick's Day parade.

After the day started with a mass at St. Francis de Sales church in Belle Harbor, marchers took off from Beach 129th Street and Newport Avenue and made their way down Rockaway Beach Boulevard to Beach 100th Street.

Drummers and bagpipe players braved the weather. They were joined by elected officials like Mayor Eric Adams and Queens DA Melinda Katz.

Organizers said it was easy to make the most of the rainy day.

"It's a beautiful day here at the Rockaway peninsula for our 49th year here," said Richard Benn, who organized the line of march.

Preparations are already underway for next year's parade, celebrating the 50th anniversary.
