The Public Advocate's Office is out with this year's list of the worst landlords.
NYCHA tops the list once again.
The yearly report is based on the number of violations in the last year and the number of units in each building.
When it comes to landlords in each borough, "1133 Boston Post Road" is the worst in the Bronx with an average of 638 violations. In Brooklyn, "381 Vernon Avenue" has 451 violations and "Windermere Holdings LLC" at 400 West 57th Street in Manhattan has 647 violations.
In Queens, "88-42 85 Street" has 517 violations and "180 Van Pelt Avenue" on Staten Island has 129 violations.
Speaking with Mornings On 1, Public Advocate Jumaane Williams singled out Mayor Bill de Blasio for failing to take action to address longstanding issues at NYCHA.
"The de Blasio administration is the worst landlord by far. For what it's done and not done with NYCHA, but also for what it's allowed private landlords to get away with over and over again. It's not even close. It's just shocking that an administration that came in saying one of the top things it had to deal with was housing, it's been an abject failure in housing generally speaking and NYCHA in particular,” Williams told NY1.
