More than 70% of women deal with uterine fibroids. For Black women, the number is even higher at 80%.

Uterine fibroids are muscular tumors that grow in the wall of the uterus.

Not all women who have these fibroids have symptoms. But those who do could deal with a prolonged menstrual period, pain, constipation, pain during sex, anemia and more.

Dr. Yan Katsnelson, the founder and CEO of USA Fibroid Centers, joined anchor Stef Manisero Monday on NY1 to talk more about uterine fibroids.
