1. First confirmed case of measles in Dallas-Fort Worth child, health officials say
There has been a confirmed case of the measles involving a student at Willow Spring Middle School in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, according to Collin County Health Care Services on Wednesday.
Willow Spring Middle School, which is located in Lucas, Texas, is working closely with public health officials to notify anyone who could have potentially been exposed to the student. The middle school is a part of the Lovejoy Independent School District.
2. Orders to leave the country — some for U.S. citizens — sow confusion among immigrants
U.S. Customs and Border Protection is quietly revoking two-year permits of people who used an online appointment app at U.S. border crossings with Mexico called CBP One.
CBP One cancellation notices began landing in inboxes in late March without warning, some telling recipients to leave immediately and others giving them seven days. Targets included U.S. citizens.
3. Trump says Zelenskyy is prolonging war in Ukraine by resisting calls to cede Crimea to Russia
President Donald Trump on Wednesday lashed out at Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, saying the Ukrainian leader is prolonging the 'killing field' after he pushed back on ceding Crimea to Russia as part of a potential peace plan.
Zelenskyy on Tuesday ruled out the idea of Ukraine ceding territory to Russia in any deal before talks set for Wednesday in London among U.S., European and Ukrainian officials. "There is nothing to talk about — it is our land, the land of the Ukrainian people," Zelenskyy said.

Tina Knowles' memoir, “Matriarch: A Memoir,” came out this week. The 432-page Oprah’s Book Club selection explores a vast range of topics, including her enslaved great-grandmothers, her entrepreneurial spirit, the Houston childhoods of Beyoncé and Solange, her infidelity-plagued first marriage, Destiny’s Child's struggle to get a record deal and the blatant racism her family experienced navigating a segregated United States.

On Tuesday, the Uvalde City Council voted unanimously to approve a settlement for the families affected by the Robb Elementary School shooting that killed 19 students and two teachers.
In addition to monetary compensation, the agreement includes making May 24 an official day of remembrance in Uvalde and forming a committee to build a permanent memorial there.
