The first poll released in the wake of the state Supreme Court election earlier this month shows the economy is a top issue for Wisconsinites living under a divided government.

The Democratic governor of Wisconsin’s creative use of his uniquely powerful veto can lock in a school funding increase for 400 years, the state Supreme Court ruled Friday.
3. Pulaski hopes its Polish charm will attract NFL crowds
Pulaski is less than 20 miles away from Green Bay and the NFL Draft. City officials and businesses are hoping the town’s charm can pull in tourists and their wallets. The village is showcasing its Polish heritage to attract NFL Draft crowds. Stacey Von Busch is the executive director of the Pulaski Chamber of Commerce.
4. Judge pauses Trump administration's plans for mass layoffs at Consumer Financial Protection Bureau
A federal judge who blocked President Donald Trump's administration from dismantling the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ruled Friday that the bureau can't go forward immediately with plans to mass fire hundreds of employees.
5. Victims injured in FSU mass shooting begin to recover physically and emotionally
The nation is still reacting after officials say a gunman opened fired near the Florida State University Student Union, killing two people and injuring others on Thursday. At least two people were killed as a result of the active shooter attack and at least six people were injured, according to officials.

Overture Center for the Arts releases its 2025-26 lineup, featuring 8 Broadway titles
A lot of new shows are coming in "hot" to Madison. Overture Center for the Arts released its 2025-26 lineup, jam-packed with Wisconsin premieres, Broadway hits, unique speakers and more.
First up in the center's Broadway series is "The Book of Mormon," which runs from Oct. 24 to 26, 2025, followed by "Some Like It Hot," which will run from Nov. 11 to 16, 2025.
"I loved 'Some Like It Hot' when I saw it on Broadway," Tim Sauers, Overture Center's co-CEO and Chief Artistic Experiences Officer, said. "It's fun with a kind of jazz score. They took the movie of 'Some Like It Hot' and they made some changes for the contemporary world ... It's stunningly beautiful."
