LOS ANGELES — The much-anticipated Bésame Mucho music festival set for Dec. 21 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles has been canceled, event organizers announced Monday afternoon in a social media post.
This would have been the third year the one-day event was to take place with headliners such as Enrique Iglesias, Juanes, Los Tigres del Norte, Los Tucanes de Tijuana and Shakira.
“We are heartbroken to share that due to circumstances beyond our control, this year’s Bésame Mucho Festival in Los Angeles at Dodger Stadium will no longer take place,” said the statement posted on social media.
The decision to cancel this year’s event came after Shakira postponed her arena tour for a stadium run next year, according to Rolling Stone, which first broke the news.
Shakira would have kick off her “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” arena tour earlier this month at the Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert. She is set to return to Los Angeles in 2025 for a SoFi Stadium show.
The first Besame Mucho at Dodger Stadium took place in 2022, and after much success in Los Angeles, event organizers expanded to Austin, Texas. Next year’s Bésame Mucho in Austin, Texas is still scheduled to take place on April 5. That event’s lineup was released a week ago.
For the now-canceled festival in LA, event organizers said tickets purchased from Front Gate Tickets will automatically be refunded to the original method of payment “in as little as 30 days.” Furthermore, the statement also said organizers were “deeply disappointed to share this news.”
Tickets were still available to the LA music festival last week and were costing $435, fees included.
