This weekend marks 50 years since the iconic club, CBGB, opened its doors in the East Village. 

The club was supposed to be a magnet for country and blues artists, but instead it became a hotspot for some big names in punk rock.

The venue closed in 2006 — but not before leaving its mark on history.

Jonathan Wells, author of a new novel based on CBGB, “The Stearns Are Listening,” joins “Live at 10” to discuss the history behind this club.
