Grammy, Emmy and Tony winner Barry Manilow is back in the spotlight this Broadway season alongside his longtime collaborator Drama Desk winner Bruce Sussman with their new musical “Harmony”.

Manilow is in town as “Harmony” begins previews tomorrow night and he stopped by the NY1 studio to talk with On Stage host Frank DiLella.

He reflected on his longtime friend and industry “sister,” Suzanne Somers.

“She was a great friend, a great friend and a lovely [person]. We loved each other. Sister is a good word,” he said. “You know, I knew she was ill. It was really a crazy kind of illness, but when the cancer came back, I feared that she was not gonna make it and it came true. And we’ll miss her forever.”

Watch his On Stage interview this weekend at 7:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.
