New York Times critic-at-large Wesley Morris joined Shannan Ferry and Rocco Vertuccio Saturday to break down the Academy Awards' Best Picture race, give his takes on the three hosts this year, and explain why he disagrees with the ceremony's decision to exclude certain awards from the televised broadcast.

The Oscars announced in February only eight awards will air live during the 94th Academy Awards. In recent years, 23 categories have aired, but executives cited declining ratings as their reasoning for the change.

The broadcast will also have three hosts this year: Amy Schumer, Regina Hall, and Wanda Sykes. The ceremony airs Sunday.

Morris is a film critic with the Times and the host of the "Still Processing" podcast.
