SEAL BEACH, Calif. — A 2.7 magnitude earthquake jolted the Long Beach area early Saturday morning, officials said.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the earthquake had a preliminary magnitude of 2.8 and was about seven kilometers or four miles southwest of Seal Beach.
The minor earthquake occurred at 1:44 a.m.
There were no reports of damage or injuries.
The epicenter of Thursday's quake occurred in what’s known as California’s “earthquake country” because it’s where three tectonic plates meet.
A seismograph located near Disney World property detected the earthquake, but it was not felt in the Central Florida area.
The U.S. Geological Survey said the earthquake was centered 4 miles north of Malibu and was about 7 miles below the surface.
Monday’s quake was centered near the Los Angeles neighborhood of Highland Park.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Tuesday that more than 35,000 people have died in Turkey as a result of last week’s earthquake.
More than a dozen survivors were rescued Saturday.
